In a season of low after low, one of the positives of it has been the presence of Leny Yoro.

Signed from Lille last summer, the young French defender has gotten better and better as the season has gone on.

Aside from a tortured game against Southampton when Kamaldeen Sulemana tore him to shreds, Yoro has looked composed in the United backline.

It can even be argued that he’s been the club’s best defender since the turn of the year.

Leny Yoro featured in the UEFA Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday and many were expecting him to line up against Aston Villa this afternoon.

However, the confirmed lineup and squad has the name of Yoro missing completely and has gotten some United fans worried.

CentreDevils exclusively revealed earlier today that Andre Onana was dropped from the starting lineup, a move that wouldn’t have come as much of a shock to Manchester United fans.

However, the news of Leny Yoro was a bit more concerning.

Despite his performances for the first team at Old Trafford, the former Lille man has spent a decent amount of time on the sidelines with injury this season.

Manchester United fans were concerned that another potential injury might have hit just as the season is coming to an end.

CentreDevils can exclusively provide details on why Leny Yoro is missing for the season ending game against Aston Villa.

Firstly, we can confirm that Yoro doesn’t have any injury.

The decision to not name him in the squad is more to do with protecting the player after a 90 minute game against Spurs than anything else.

Leny Yoro does have a small problem with his foot, however it’s nothing serious.

In the final, Yoro was only cleared to play 60 minutes beforehand but ended up playing the full game instead.

With pre-season on the horizon, Ruben Amorim decided to rest him as there’s not much riding for United on the game against Villa.

Manchester United expect Leny Yoro to be back playing for the pre-season friendlies as they look to put this disastrous season behind them.
