What Everton fans sang mocking Newcastle United in their 1-0 victory at St James' Park

Everton secured all three points against Newcastle United in their final Premier League game of the campaign.

David Moyes and his side have fared well on the road since the Scot made his return to Merseyside in January.

The Toffees came into the game knowing they had nothing other than pride to play for having already secured a 13th-placed finish.

However, Everton were well aware they could play their part in spoiling the party for Newcastle who were playing for Champions League football.

Carlos Alcaraz put the Blues ahead in the second half and that goal sent the travelling fans into raptures up on Level 7.

Everton fans want Alcaraz to sign permanently this summer having shown his quality whilst playing under the 62-year-old.

But the away fans were singing the name of another Everton player following the goal on Tyneside.

Jordan Pickford certainly will have enjoyed watching Newcastle’s party upset by the Blues.

In a recent interview, Pickford said Newcastle fans give him the most grief of any other fanbase in the Premier League.

Following the goal, Everton fans could be heard winding up the home fans by singing the name of the former Sunderland goalkeeper.

‘He’s a mackem, He’s a blue, He’s a Toffee through and through, He hates Newcastle, He hates the s****, Jordan Pickford’s dynamite,’ they sang.

Pickford admitted he loved his song despite it taking a number of years for the England number one to have one created.

Newcastle may have crept into the Champions League due to results elsewhere, but Everton fans certainly enjoyed the result on the day.

Everton ending the season in style

For what has been a turbulent campaign, Everton certainly showed a lot more under Moyes than they did in the first half of the campaign.

Moyes has proven many pundits wrong in his short time back at the club and he has earned the trust of the new owners.

A huge summer awaits the Toffees where improvements are going to be sought all around the side.

The Friedkins are going to back Moyes financially this summer and he has certainly earned that with a strong showing as the Everton boss.
