Manchester United and Man City will be hoping for improved seasons when the 2025-26 Premier League kicks off in August
The Premier League trophy has been updated after Liverpool's title win
The Premier League season has come to an end and we're wasting no time in counting down until the 2025-25 campaign starts!
Manchester City secured Champions League football on the final day of the campaign while Manchester United had a campaign to forget. Both will be seeking improvements next term.
The top flight will welcome Sunderland after their dramatic play-off final win over Sheffield United, with Leeds United and Burnley also coming up from the Championship.
It promises to another enthralling season with Liverpool the defending champions and several sides hoping to dethrone Arne Slot's men.
The campaign gets under way on Saturday, August 16, 83 days after the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. TV picks for the opening weekend will be made in the weeks prior to the big kick-off.
The final day is on Sunday, May 24, 2026. There will be 33 weekend matches and five midweek match rounds while no fixtures will take place on Christmas Eve.
Over the festive period no match rounds will be within 60 hours of each other to aid player recovery, while the last day of the season is ahead of the 2026 World Cup call-up period.
The fixtures will be released in just a few weeks. The date for the diary is Wednesday, June 18, with all 380 matches being released at 9am.
There will be more matches on TV next season as part of new rules. Sky has confirmed it will broadcast 215 Premier League matches every season from 2025/26. This will include all 10 fixtures on the final day.
TNT will show a minimum of 52 matches a season, while Amazon will not be screening any top flight football.
Every 2pm Sunday kick-off will be televised as part of a record £6.7bn domestic television deal.
"The outcome of this process underlines the strength of the Premier League and is testament to our clubs, players and managers who continue to deliver the world's most competitive football in full stadiums, and to supporters, who create an unrivalled atmosphere every week," said Premier League chief executive Richard Masters.
There will also be an earlier-than-usual transfer window ahead of the Club World Cup, which involves City. A shortened window runs from Sunday, June 1 to Tuesday, June 10.
The window will then reopen on Monday, June 16 until deadline day on Monday, September 1. Notably, this summer's transfer window will close four hours earlier at 7pm, rather than the customary 11pm deadline.
