Enzo Maresca press conference LIVE - Chelsea boss on Champions League, Nottingham Forest win

Hello and welcome to **football.london** for live coverage of Enzo Maresca's post-match press conference.

Chelsea have qualified for next season's Champions League after beating Nottingham Forest by a goal to nil on the final day of the Premier League campaign. Levi Colwill scored what turned out to be the only goal of the match at the City Ground to cement a fourth-place finish for the Blues.

Even with the enormous pressure on their shoulders, Chelsea's young group of players stood up to the task and made sure they did not have to rely on other results. Maresca will be delighted that in his debut season at Stamford Bridge, he has gone and completed the main target.

The Blues head coach will be with us very shortly to reflect on just that. **Bobby Vincent** is live in Nottingham to bring you live updates from Maresca's press conference.

> In the past I was not here. Since I joined the club, we haven't spent more than the rest. We spent money in the same way as other clubs have. We now have players who deserve to be in the Champions League.

> They told me just once when Man United scored the second goal. Willy Caballero told me it was 2-0 and that was the only information I had during the game. I said to the players that we don't need to watch Aston Villa, we need to do our job and win the game.

> I'm not thinking about the summer, to be honest. We have to be happy today because we brought this club where it needs to be - in the most important competition. We prepare for Wednesday's final and then we have days to see for next season.

18:39Bobby Vincent

> I didn't have any doubt about the players. The doubt was from outside. We have had 'they are too young, they are not good enough'. They were saying we were not able to win on this pitch. Unfortunately for them, they are all young. How do we say it in English: 'F off to all of them'.

18:38Bobby Vincent

> I think that from January on, we played many good games but from some of you \[the press\], they said from January we didn't play many good games. But today we achieved our target today.

18:37Bobby Vincent

> The results always count for us in every game. We want to reach results in the way we want to play. The players were top today because we adjusted how to work off the ball today because the environment is not easy.

18:36Bobby Vincent

> Very happy for many reasons. I think the players deserve it. Since day one, they have worked so hard. The club, the owners, the sporting directors, the players, we are all going in the right direction. The noise has always been more from the outside than the inside.
