There have been few players who have been as impactful to their team's recent success as the player who made the most recent list of comeback players to watch in 2025, that was put out by Pro Football Focus at pff.com. Coming in at number seven on the list was Tampa Bay Buccaneers injured wide receiver Chris Godwin.
Godwin, alongside his future Hall of Fame teammate Mike Evans, have been a dynamic duo of receivers for the Buccaneers. The two feed off of each other, and genuinely can be seen in the games cheering each other on.
It was an absolute scorching start to the season for Godwin last season, posting 576 yards and 5 touchdowns to start the year. However, in week 7, he would suffer a dislocated ankle that, to this day, is still hard to watch. The way his teammates gathered around him and supported him was something to behold.
Godwin has been a model of consistency over the years, and has never received a grade from PFF of less than 75.7. He would actually post the highest grade of his career in 2019, scoring a 90.7 grade, when he would set highs for himself in touchdowns with nine, and yards with 1,333. Keep in mind, that this is while Evans was also putting up his 1,000 yard season.
The Buccaneers in a move to show Godwin the faith they have in him signed him to a three year, $66 million extension this offseason. It is going to be an offense to keep your eye on with this two-headed monster at receivers, and the addition of projected young phenom Emeka Egbuka.
