The majority of next season's Champions League spots have now been filled

Manchester City will play Champions League football next season after securing a top five finish in the Premier League.

City beat Fulham 2-0 on the final day. Ilkay Gundogan put City ahead in the first half with a stunning overhead kick before an Erling Haaland penalty in the final quarter secured the points and a third place finish.

That secured a third place finish and Chelsea and Newcastle United complete the English cohort having taken the other places on offer via the Premier League alongside champions Liverpool and runners-up Arsenal. Tottenham will also be participating after winning the Europa League.

City will slot directly into the league phase of the 2025-26 Champions League, playing in the expanded competition for the second time.

That will see them play eight fixtures with the teams divided into four pots of nine teams based on their UEFA club coefficient except for the Champions League holders - either Inter Milan or PSG - who will be the top seed in pot one.

Here's the teams who are already assured of a place in the league phase, as well as those hoping to join them through the qualification rounds.
