Liverpool could look to complete a move for Florian Wirtz in the next 24 hours, according to reports - with the Reds potentially being able to wrap up a deal on Monday after the Bayer Leverkusen star snubbed a move to fellow German giants Bayern Munich.
Reports close to the weekend suggested that Wirtz had sensationally snubbed a move to Bayern, despite the Bundesliga champions seemingly being the runaway leaders for his signature in recent weeks - and having become 'one of the best midfielders in the world', it's a deal that will send shockwaves across world football should he sign on the dotted line.

With that in mind, the report by Graeme Bailey via TBR Football states that Liverpool could get a deal done for Wirtz by Monday - with the Leverkusen star edging closer to a move to Anfield.

Leverkusen are thought to be delighted that Wirtz has chosen Liverpool over Bayern, which helps any bid to reclaim the Bundesliga title after missing out to Vincent Kompany's men this time around.
And journalist Bailey has stated that a deal could be done by Monday to continue the Reds' trophy celebrations after winning the Premier League. He said:
“Bayer Leverkusen, privately, are delighted that Wirtz has made this decision. I am told part of the reason for him making the decision to reject Bayern Munich was his loyalty to Leverkusen.
“Leverkusen didn’t want him to move to Munich and this will delight them. This deal could be finalised by Monday, I am told.”
Wirtz has 69 goal contributions over the past two seasons and that will be ideal for Arne Slot, who wants to add creativity and goals to his side to bolster their ranks next season in search of more trophies and the Champions League to boot.
Dominik Szoboszlai has had a magnificent campaign behind the striking contingent at Anfield, and Wirtz could indeed play off the left under the Dutch boss having done so in the past for Leverkusen and Germany - though having an abundance of options is never a bad thing when you are challenging for major honours.
