Manchester United have already found the ideal replacement for Alejandro Garnacho in Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Matheus Cunha, who is expected to join the club this summer.
The Red Devils are set for their worst ever finish in Premier League history, and a crushing Europa League final defeat to Tottenham only added to the gloom surrounding Old Trafford.
As a result of the dismal 2024/25 campaign, a mass squad rebuild is expected to take place this summer for boss Ruben Amorim. David Ornstein revealed after the final that the Portuguese tactician told Garnacho to "find a new club", and the Argentine will be among many to exit in the coming months.
Fortunately, United have already completed the task of finding Garnacho's successor, and they are set to welcome their first signing of the transfer window soon.
United Set to Sign Cunha
The Brazilian is the perfect replacement for Garnacho
As revealed by Fabrizio Romano on GIVEMESPORT's Market Madness podcast, Wolves' Cunha is expected to head north to Manchester United with it being likely that the 25-year-old will be the club's "first signing of the summer".
It follows after the Europa League final defeat, indicating Cunha had his mind set on joining Amorim's squad regardless of their status in European football next season. United will pay a £62.5 million release clause in instalments in due course to secure his signature.
One of the best players in the Premier League, the "sensational" Cunha has been Wolves' star player this term. He registered 17 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions and served up a further six assists for his teammates.
The 25-year-old's attacking prowess and explosiveness make him a strong fit in the space behind the striker. Garnacho is often deployed here, but he has struggled on occasions in the past, given he is more of a natural winger - Cunha is the ideal profile of player to take the space.

Ultimately, there have been doubts over whether Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee are suited to lead the line in Amorim's squad. Manchester United are better off searching for a new striker to replace the misfiring duo instead of looking to replace Garnacho as Cunha is already in-bound.
