Tottenham have finally managed to end their 17-year long wait for a major trophy this season. The Lilywhites won the Europa League in dramatic fashion after beating Manchester United 1-0 in Bilbao. Winning the competition also ensured Champions League qualification for next season and a huge influx of money into the North London club.
However, the Europa League success cannot overshadow the disastrous Premier League campaign endured by Spurs. Under Ange Postecoglou this season, the Lilywhites sit 17th in the league table and they have also registered 21 losses in the league. The North London club needs to address the problems in the squad heading into the transfer window once the season ends this weekend.

It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town in the summer. The Englishman has been one of the standout players for the Tractor Boys this season and has quickly made a name for himself in the Premier league. Delap has a £30m release clause in hiscontract that has been activated after Ipswich confirmed their relegation from the Premier League this season.
However, Spurs have suffered a massive blow in their chances to land the 22-year-old. As per Fabrizio Romano (via GIVEMESPORT), Everton have held a direct meeting with Delap’s representatives as they look to hijack a deal and lure the Englishman to Merseyside. The Toffees have also promised the Ipswich star a place in the starting eleven as they look to kickstart a new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium next season.
