The disappointing 2024/25 season has shown Ruben Amorim that a huge squad overhaul is needed at Manchester United.
The Red Devils have finished 15th in the Premier League and without a trophy after losing the Europa League final last week.
However, the season ended on a high note with Manchester United beating Aston Villa 2-0 at Old Trafford.
Ruben Amorim gave a rousing speech to United’s loyal fans at full time, and confirmed that changes will take place over the summer.
One moment against Villa will help Amorim make up his mind.

Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund moment vs Aston Villa
United put on one of their strongest performances of the season on Sunday, with Villa no match for Amorim’s side on the day.
However, while United were dominating possession and creating an abundance of chances, they were once again struggling to get the ball into the back of the net.
Rasmus Hojlund has been heavily criticised for his disappointing form this season, and his frustrations in front of goal continued against Villa.

In the 56th minute of United’s win, there was a key incident that highlighted Hojlund’s flaws.
Kobbie Mainoo made a lung-busting run to press Villa’s defence and he stole the ball in the 18-yard box before spinning and setting up Hojlund for a big chance.
However, Hojlund failed to control the simple pass which ended what should have been a dangerous chance. He will end the season with only four Premier League goals, and he proved why on Sunday.
Mainoo injected energy into United’s performance and he followed Amorim’s pressing instructions to a tee, but once again United were let down by Hojlund’s terrible control.
Man United cannot sell Kobbie Mainoo this summer
It is no secret that Ineos are planning to raise funds through sales this summer and there are not many players who are considered unsellable.
Mainoo has been linked with a summer exit as his sale would provide direct profit to United’s PSR calculations given he is an academy talent.
It seems Alejandro Garnacho has been told to leave after his comments following the Europa League final, but United cannot afford for Mainoo to follow a similar route.

Reports suggest United want £70m for Mainoo this summer, but his performance against Villa proves he still has an extremely bright future under Amorim.
Gary Neville spoke out against selling Mainoo and Ineos should listen. He can have a huge role in 2025/26.
