Gyokeres sends new two-word message as Arsenal transfer decision imminent

Viktor Gyokeres has sparked further transfer speculation with his latest social media post amid links with Arsenal.

The Sweden international has been a revelation at Sporting, notching an astonishing 95 goals in just 100 appearances since his transfer from Coventry City to Liga Portugal back in July 2023.

Sporting's top marksman this term has truly dazzled in the Primeira Liga, scoring 39 goals and contributing eight assists across 33 games.

The 26-year-old striker has been instrumental for Rui Borges' team, driving them to another league title with his contributions on the pitch.

But these could be the final days of his stint with Sporting, as Gyokeres is tipped to feature against Benfica in the Taça de Portugal final on Sunday, which might mark the end of his tenure at the Portuguese side.

In anticipation, the forward shared an image of himself decked out in the Sporting kit, accompanied by the words "Let's go," alongside the symbol of a lion.

football.london understands that the Gunners are long admirers of Gyokeres, with interest dating back to his spell at Coventry. Despite catching the eye in his debut season at Sporting, Arsenal, like many other clubs, decided against making a bid.

But, the Swede has continued his great form, making him an attractive option this summer. football.london understands that Andrea Berta is thought to be a 'big fan', but – as it stands – an official offer hasn't been submitted.

Gyokeres' name has also been swirling around Old Trafford ever since Ruben Amorim took over managerial duties there in November, with the Red Devils seeking a reliable goal-scorer after managing a paltry 42 Premier League goals this season.

Despite the strong connection with United, The Manchester Evening News understand that it's Ipswich Town's prodigy Liam Delap who sits atop United's wishlist to bolster their striking options this summer, not Gyokeres.
