Former Manchester United takeover hopeful Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani is reportedly not looking to reignite his interest in the club despite the pressure mounting on Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Ineos' founder completed his minority purchase of United in February 2024. Since then, the Reds have been focused on cost-cutting measures to try and make the club profitable again.
Ratcliffe's staff cuts and treatment of existing staff members has led to several protests including at Sunday's match against Aston Villa. In midweek, 'Glazers and Ratcliffe out' was trending on social media.
The current predicament has led many to wish that Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim, who wanted to buy United in its entirety and wipe the club's debts, would reignite his interest in the club. However, the Daily Mail understands this is unlikely.
Having missed out on the Reds last year, there is apparently little interest in the Qatari's camp to start a new bid for the club. It is also believed that while Ratcliffe stated he would walk away if he received the same abuse the Glazers have received, there is little appetite from Ineos to walk away from United at this stage.
In September 2024, Sheikh Jassim and his business associate Abdulrahman Al-Ansari had dissolved their Nine Two UK Holdings company which was leading the bid for United. The name was chosen due to its association with the legendary Class of '92 that shone for United under Sir Alex Ferguson.

United are set to finish just above the relegation zone and should they produce a worse result than Tottenham, who host Brighton and Hove Albion, they will finish 17th in the Premier League.
