The Los Angeles Lakers' season ended abruptly in late April after their surprising first-round exit at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Lakers were a flawed team with a flawed roster despite having one of the top players in the world, Luka Doncic. Doncic was brought to Los Angeles after the Dallas Mavericks wanted him out of the organization due to concerns about his long-term success and his conditioning issues, which the Mavericks had big issues with.
Nonetheless, one man's trash is another man's treasure, which will be the case with the Lakers, who plan on signing him to an extension this summer. The Lakers believe in Doncic and his abilities to sharpen his game not only on the court but also off the court.
The Lakers believe in Doncic and his ability to get and stay in shape, and it appears that he is taking it seriously this summer. Doncic made a public appearance at a Real Madrid game, and his body transformation is insane.
Last week, Jason Gallagher, an Emmy-award-winning director, said that the Lakers superstar is doing his best to turn a new leaf with an insane conditioning plan.
"I've heard from folks thats are pretty honest... that Luka has already begun a clean slate, starting anew, in this mindset of changing a lot about himself."
So far, it appears to be working for the five-time All-NBA member.

Doncic's conditioning—and his dedication to maintaining it—has been a focal point of conversation ever since the trade to the Lakers happened back in February. That narrative only gained more traction following the Lakers' early exit from the postseason.
The Dallas organization and the fans on social media have been ruthless about Docnic's appearance, especially compared to when he first entered the league. There is a stark difference from now to when he entered the league, and it is clear that he was far more athletic and agile back then.
The Lakers are eager to see him return to that level of play—and based on recent signs, it seems he's just as motivated to get there.
