Barca could buy Joan Garcia and send him out on loan

[Barcelona are reportedly going to try and sign Joan Garcia](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/25/24436841/barcelona-go-for-joan-garcia-hansi-flick-and-deco-decide-to-sign-a-goalkeeper) from Espanyol in the summer transfer window after deciding it’s time to bring in a goalkeeper.

The stopper is available for just €25 million and Barcelona see this as a market opportunity that simply can’t be passed up.

According to Cadena SER, Barca are now trying to figure out how to make such a deal reality and are even thinking about sending Garcia out on loan.

Financial fair play issues continue to be a factor for Barcelona, meaning “the idea currently being worked on by the Blaugrana board is to loan him out to a First Division team.”

The report claims that this plan may suit Garcia as he is determined to be first choice if he does move away from Espanyol.

That may be tricky if Barcelona still have Marc-Andre ter Stegen and [Wojciech Szczęsny in the squad](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/12/24428118/wojciech-szczesny-confirms-two-year-contract-offer-from-barcelona-but-yet-to-decide) and seems to be the reason why the Catalans are thinking about acquiring Garcia’s services and then sending him out on loan.

Valencia are being mentioned as one possible destination for Garcia if Barcelona do manage to pull off a deal, while Real Betis are another name supposedly in the frame.
