Everton are reportedly weighing up a shock move for Liverpool winger Ben Doak, whose days at Anfield look numbered.
The Toffees are looking to bolster their attacking options and are targeting Liam Delap despite the Ipswich Town forward's links to Manchester United and Chelsea. The English striker has a £30m release clause, which has become active following his club's relegation.
The Times' Paul Joyce reports that Doak has also emerged as a right-wing option for David Moyes and there have been discussions about making a move for the 19-year-old. Crystal Palace failed with a bid for the Scottish teenage prospect in January, who returned to Anfield after an injury cut short a loan spell with Middlesbrough.

Doak is priced at £25-30m, and a departure could be on the cards this summer amid limited opportunities at Anfield. He's been with the Reds since March 2022, when he arrived from Celtic in a £600,000 deal, making 10 senior appearances.
Doak had been a key player under Michael Carrick at the Riverside before suffering a hamstring injury in January. Jurgen Klopp described him as "special" and could be viewed as a replacement for Jack Harrison, one of five players set to leave Everton when their loans expire next month.

The Toffees' rebuild is set to see them add a new striker, and new owners, the Friedkin Group, are making a "sizeable budget" available. But Moyes must use this "carefully" in overhauling the squad alongside new CEO Angus Kinnear and incoming head of strategy Nicky Hammond, and they will need to attend to other areas.
