David Ornstein has given Newcastle United fans further joy on Sunday afternoon, following their qualification for the Champions League - with The Athletic journalist stating that Alexander Isak will be going 'nowhere' after their place in Europe's premier cup competition.
A shock 1-0 loss to Everton at St. James' Park on Sunday saw the Magpies needing to rely on other results elsewhere to make the top five - and with Manchester United doing them a favour by beating Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest failing to beat Chelsea, it saw sighs of relief on Tyneside.
Ornstein: 'No Chance' Alexander Isak Will Depart Newcastle
The club's Champions League campaign means that they are likely to keep the Swede

Attention will now turn to the transfer window, and whilst incomings are going to be paramount to their success, keeping hold of their star players will also be needed. Isak is the quintessential player when mentioning their star cohort, having scored an incredible 22 goals this season in the top-flight alone and registering interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool especially.

Newcastle can't afford to lose him as it would set back their progress massively, but with Champions League qualification now secured, Ornstein believes that there is no chance he will depart - with the Saudi Public Investment Fund wanting to maintain their stature to kick on next time around. He said via NBC Sports:
"For them, it's not so much about the PSR, it's more about their stature, and the Saudi-led ownership ambitions to really kick on.
"Also, keeping somebody like Alexander Isak. If Newcastle reached the Champions League today, he is going nowhere. If they don't, I think some suitors may think there's a glimmer, a slight chance that they could test the waters on that front.
"Newcastle's perspective is that he's not for sale at any price."
Isak, Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy have all been incredible in their own right this season, but additions alongside the Swede - notably for a right-winger - could push Newcastle further up the league in their search for top-flight success.
It's almost 100 years since they won the famous gong and Eddie Howe will need to keep the former Real Sociedad star if they are to reach their goals.
