Manchester United have confirmed their 32-man squad for their post-season tour to Asia. And there is a place for Alejandro Garnacho, despite the fact he has been tipped to exit the club this summer.
Garnacho was left out of the starting line-up for the Europa League final on Wednesday evening as United went head-to-head with Tottenham in Bilbao. He came on for the final 20 minutes but then lashed out at his employers during a post-match interview as he described the Red Devils’ season as “s***”. He was omitted from the matchday squad for United’s final Premier League showdown of the campaign against Aston Villa on Sunday and has reportedly been told by manager Ruben Amorim to find a new club this summer.
Amorim was asked by TNT Sports ahead of his team’s clash with Villa whether fans had seen the last of Garnacho in a United shirt.
The Portuguese boss replied: “No, Garnacho is a Manchester United player who is not in the squad today, but he continues to be a Manchester United player.”
Amorim was then asked if the Argentine winger would be included in the United’s squad for their post-season tour. And he explained: “Everybody’s going because we have to go to meet our fans and to give something to our fans on the other side of the world.”
