Alvarez has already tried his hand in the Premier League, but departing last summer, he's become a star for Los Colchoneros and continues to show the form he produced under Pep Guardiola. Having had a superb campaign with 29 goals to his name, and being a key part of Atletico's season, the former Manchester City star - who was called 'unbelievable' by former boss Pep Guardiola - has attracted interest from Arne Slot who has seen Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez fail to nail down a starting spot in his Reds side.
The current Premier League champions are 'closely monitoring' his situation, being ready to compete for Alvarez's services if Atletico open the door to a sale, and although the La Liga giants consider him to be a valuable asset, the possibility of cashing in on an offer worth more than the fee they paid City for his services over the summer is not ruled out.
