The Buffalo Bills' offense runs through Josh Allen, and the defending MVP winner will again be pivotal to the team's success.
But for Allen to be the player the franchise wants him to be, and the one he was last season, he needs protection.
Allen's sack numbers have drastically decreased in each of the last two seasons. After having at least 26 sacks in his first five seasons and two years of 30+, Allen had just 24 in 2023 and 14 in 2024.
One reason for that has been right tackle Spencer Brown. Yes, the Bills have more household names in Dion Dawkins, Connor McGovern, and O'Cyrus Torrence, but Brown flies under the radar.
For Bleacher Report, they have named him as Buffalo's best-kept secret entering the 2025 season.
"Offensive line is an unsung position group as a whole, and most people focus on left tackles, especially after the movie and book The Blind Side," Bleacher Report writes. "But protecting the other edge is important, and Brown is one of the best at it, despite having never made a Pro Bowl or All-Pro team.
"According to Pro Football Focus, he allowed just 17 pressures and earned a 78.5 run-blocking grade during the regular season. Granted, the five-year pro isn’t a secret to the Bills as they gave him a four-year, $72 million contract extension last September."

Having been an ever-present in the Bills' offensive line since being drafted in 2021, Brown has been perhaps one of the most consistent performers, although penalties are an issue.
Still, the Bills' right tackle has nailed down the starting role and shows no signs of letting it go.
Given Buffalo's want to run the ball with James Cook, plus the kind of backyard football Allen can play at times, the offensive line needs to be on point, and there's no denying they are.
Just 14 sacks last season was a superb effort, and if Buffalo is to make it deep in the postseason again, we imagine something similar will need to happen, and Brown will likely go about his business in the shadows, as he has done for the past four seasons.
