Commanders Have Easy Decision on All-Pro

The Washington Commanders are riding high after their impressive victory to the NFC Championship Game last year.

Following a strong offseason that saw Pro Bowl players like Laremy Tunsil and Deebo Samuel join the team, many believe the Commanders are set to compete for a Super Bowl in 2025.

In order for that to happen, though, there is one major thing the organization has to figure out.

An extension for All-Pro wide receiver Terry McLaurin.

The former Ohio State product has become one of the best receivers in the game, and Washington's best offensive weapon over the years. As he enters the final year of his contract, though, all eyes are in the nation's capital to see if the Commanders will reward their top pass catcher with a lucrative new deal.

CBS Sports writer Tyler Sullivan believes the decision for Washington, is as easy as any around the league.

"For years, McLaurin had been the face of the Commanders organization and produced at an elite level despite lackluster quarterback play," Sullivan said. "However, after the arrival of Jayden Daniels, Washington has been thrust into a Super Bowl window, and McLaurin is at the center of those championship hopes.

"He's registered five-straight 1,000-yard seasons, and there are no signs of slowing down, making an extension an easy choice."

Despite a superb season from rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, the Commanders would not have reached the conference title game without McLaurin. He must be a priority for the team.

Even if that means paying him like one of the best receivers in the game today.
