Hansi Flick was a happy man after seeing [Barcelona end the season in style with a 3-0 win](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/barcelona-la-liga/2025/5/25/24435812/athletic-bilbao-barcelona-la-liga-final-score-match-report-recap-reactions) over Athletic Club at San Mames in La Liga.
The champions took home all three points thanks to two goals from Robert Lewandowski and a late penalty from Dani Olmo.
Flick said it was a great end to the season for his team.
“Today it was positive to see the level we played at. It was a good way to end the season. I like what I saw in the 90 minutes. I think finishing at this level is great news,” he said.
The Barcelona boss was also quizzed on speculation [his team want to sign Joan Garcia from Espanyol over the summer](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/25/24437034/rumors-barcelona-could-buy-joan-garcia-and-send-him-out-on-loan).
“You have to talk to De la Fuente. Joan García is very good, but I don’t talk about players who aren’t on my team. We have three fantastic goalkeepers, now that Marc is back from injury,” he explained.
Flick also reflected on news that Xabi Alonso has been confirmed as Real Madrid’s next manager and
“It’s no surprise. I know him. I’ve spoken with him,” he added.
“I know his philosophy, and we’ve seen the success he’s achieved in Germany. His level at Bayern has been very good. He’s improved the level of many players. I like seeing him here.”
Barcelona and Flick will now enjoy a well-deserved rest before attention is switched to next season.
