Top Analyst Predicts Surprising NFC East Results for Commanders

The Washington Commanders completed one of the more impressive turnarounds last season.

From a four-win nightmare in 2023 to a 12-win playoff run last year, the Commanders found the perfect formula to rebuild the once proud franchise. Now, the goal moving forward is to find sustained success.

It won't come easy in the NFC East, though.

With the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles thinking about a repeat, and the Dallas Cowboys looking to bounce back after a dismal 7-10 season, the Commanders have their work cut out for them in 2025.

ESPN insider John Keim detailed exactly why.

"While Washington finished fifth in scoring and seventh in yards in 2024, this season will present more challenges," Keim wrote. "The Commanders play eight games against defenses that finished top-seven in scoring -- facing the Eagles twice -- and nine vs. teams in the top 10."

"They also play in a division that has top defensive linemen such as Cowboys end Micah Parsons, Eagles tackle Jalen Carter, and a Giants front that includes end Brian Burns and tackle Dexter Lawrence II, as well as rookies Abdul Carter and Donovan Ezeiruaku in the draft."

In short, the rest of the NFC East has the kind of firepower to make life difficult for Washington this season.

The Commanders are no pushovers, though. They have a young star at quarterback, an improved defense, and a collection of receivers that can put pressure on any defense.

The NFC East is going to be a bloodbath in 2025. Whether the Commanders are able to match their win total from last season or not.
