Bills 'Vulnerability' In AFC East Assessed By Insider

The Buffalo Bills have controlled the AFC East division for the last five seasons. Since Tom Brady left the New England Patriots, Josh Allen and the Bills have taken control of the division.

Don't count on that changing anytime soon, either.

In a discussion on NFL.com dissecting which divisions are most likely to see a new winner, Judy Battista called the ACF East as the least likely to see a new champion.

"The least vulnerable division champion and, at this point, it’s not particularly close," said Battista. "The Bills won the division last year by five games, the largest margin in the league. The competition could be ramped up, though, at least a bit."

Things have changed in the division, just not by much according to Battista's thought process.

The New England Patriots bolstered both sides of the ball to pair with young signal-caller Drake Maye. The New York Jets are under new management, but have a collection of stars who can make things interesting.

Then there are the Miami Dolphins. The Fish were expected to be the lone team recently who could on paper compete with the Bills for division supremacy.

But, no. ...

It simply hasn't really happened.

With the Dolphins looking to move on from several key stars on the team, the expectation is that the organization won't be competing for the AFC East crown anytime soon.

By default, that leaves the Bills as the favorites for the top crown - making it potentially six in a row for the franchise.
