Pep Guardiola was in a spiky mood when asked about Jack Grealish after Manchester City beat Fulham to secure Champions League football next season.
Pep Guardiola looks on prior to the Premier League match between Fulham and City
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has had his say on the club's summer transfer plans
Pep Guardiola doesn't think there will be an overhaul of his Manchester City squad this summer - despite reiterating his stance that he needs a smaller group of players to work with.
In a fiery press conference after seeing City secure Champions League football with a win at Fulham, Guardiola suggested Jack Grealish needs to find 'another club' if he cannot get the regular games he needs at the Etihad. And when challenged on whether he is unhappy with Grealish, Guardiola hit back and insisted he has to make tough decisions on the six players he is having to omit from his squad every match.
Guardiola attempted to move on from Grealish, saying 'don't ask me about Jack' to another question, before offering an update on how realistic a summer overhaul really is. A third Grealish question saw him simply say: 'Next one,' as the press conference moved on to summer transfer plans.
"What happens next season the club is going to decide. I give my suggestions but the club will decide," he said at Craven Cottage. "I don't have the feeling [about needing an overhaul], I'm sorry!"
"Maybe the club is a little different, we'll see, but I have 24 players and I see my players, the day before in training, I said, 'Oh my god! How good they are!' But of course, new faces will come, especially in positions where we're a little weaker."
Guardiola pointed back to the end of his first season at City when a large number of players were out of contract and the club were able to rebuild the squad - and contrasted it to this summer where only Kevin De Bruyne and Scott Carson have deals expiring next month.
"We have a good squad," he added. "They have contracts and they want to stay, and I don't want a lot of players [in a big squad]. We have 23 players under contract. That's why I don't have the feeling that a lot of people will come. But we'll see; the summer is long, the World Cup, players maybe realise they're not going to play, 'I want to leave, I'm not happy'. I don't know!
"I'm sorry, it's not my business. My business was qualifying for the Champions League and the rest now belongs to the club."
