Head coach Ruben Amorim said Manchester United need to sign players in the same mould as Ayden Heaven following Sunday's 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
The talented centre-back, who joined United from Arsenal in the mid-season transfer window, made his first start since mid-March after overcoming an injury problem.
Starting on the left of the defence, the 18-year-old helped United secure their first clean sheet in the Premier League since their goalless draw with Manchester City on April 6.
Prior to being substituted in the second half and being replaced by the outgoing Jonny Evans, Heaven completed five clearances, produced three interceptions and won one tackle. He also completed 91 per cent of his attempted passes.
Producing another accomplished showing at the back, Amorim took the opportunity to praise Heaven and United technical director Jason Wilcox for bringing him to Old Trafford.
"Once again, Jason Wilcox is doing a great job," Amorim told MUTV.
"Bringing Ayden... it is these kind of players that we need because he show a lot of character and quality after a big injury.
"We want this kind of player."
Since joining United earlier this year, Heaven has made six appearances for the club, making three starts and three substitute appearances.
On the three occasions he has started for United, the Reds have not conceded a goal from open play.
