Napoli eyeing summer move for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho

Napoli are reportedly eyeing a move for Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho.

According to i Paper, Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna will meet with United officials over a move for the 20-year-old this summer.

Garnacho was dropped out of the 20-man squad for the Red Devils’ final game of the season against Aston Villa.

The Argentine was furious at being left out of the Europa League final defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

Garnacho voiced his displeasure against his manager after the European final, and Amorim has now reportedly told him to find a new club.

Napoli tried to sign the young forward in the January transfer window. But they failed to reach an agreement with United, who were demanding a whopping £60 million for a transfer.

The Blues are not likely to meet the English club’s valuation, but there is confidence a compromise around the £50m mark can be found.

Garnacho is one of the best talents to emerge from the Man Utd academy.

He broke into the first-team during the 2022-23 campaign, and went on to make 19 Premier League appearances that season.

The Argentina international was part of Erik ten Hag’s FA Cup winning team last season.

The young winger has played 144 times across all competitions for the Red Devils, registering 26 goals and 22 assists in the process.

But he is now expected to leave the club after falling out with Amorim.

United endured a disappointing 2024-25 campaign, and they will look to rebuild their squad in the summer window.

Missing out on Champions League qualification means funds are expected to be tight at Old Trafford.

The Manchester giants will look to sell players to generate funds for new recruits this summer. Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho have been linked with an exit, while the club may also listen to offers for Rasmus Hojlund.
