A “unique” Liverpool transfer target has now hinted that he will leave his current club, paving the way for him to seal a summer switch to Anfield.
The Reds enjoyed a glorious day on Sunday, lifting the Premier League trophy in front of fans for the first time in 35 years.
It’s now a case of Arne Slot and Richard Hughes looking to nail Liverpool’s summer transfer business, with the likes of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz already mentioned as likely options.
Writing on Instagram on Sunday, Kerkez paid tribute to Bournemouth’s fans after their 2-0 win at home to Leicester City, hinting that he has played his final game for the club:
“38 games,3 8 started, we finished the job and broke the record, thanks to the fans and everyone for support, thanks to the gaffer for trusting me to start all 38 games and special thanks to the one above for keeping me safe and healthy and of course nothing would be possible without my family, I don’t know what will happen in next week but Cherries family thank you!”
Welcome to Liverpool, Milos Kerkez?
At this point, it would be a genuine surprise if Kerkez wasn’t Liverpool’s left-back signing this summer, having been strongly linked for some time now, being seen as the front-runners to snap him up.
It is easy to see why the Reds want him too, with the 21-year-old such a consistent player for Bournemouth this season, finishing the campaign with two goals and five assists in the Premier League, starting every game in the competition.
Kerkez is admired by teammates, with former colleague Mat Ryan once saying of him: “Milos is a great boy. A crazy dude, in a good way. He is always positive and smiling. Hopefully he can develop even further in England and become even more mature. He is aggressive, powerful and has so many qualities. A unique skill set. Bournemouth is going to get stronger because of him. Milos still has a great career ahead of him.”
Hopefully, Liverpool can announce the signing of the Hungarian as soon as possible, also sealing the stunning captures of Bayer Leverkusen pair Frimpong and Kirtz, in what would be such an exciting start to the summer.
