Talks underway – Leeds and Burnley eye move for 24y/o international

Leeds United and Burnley are reportedly keen to bolster their goalkeeping areas after securing promotion to the Premier League.

The Whites could lose their first-choice goalkeeper, Illan Meslier, and per Bild, they are in talks to sign Bayern Munich shot-stopper Daniel Peretz.

Leeds are likely to face competition from Burnley, while Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven are also serious about landing the goalkeeper.

The Israel international is the back-up goalkeeper behind Manuel Neuer, and he aims to secure the number one spot for his club.

Bayern cannot give the regular game time he needs, but they are more than happy to send him out on loan for a complete season.

Bild claim that talks are underway with Leeds and Genoa to sign Peretz, but Burnley and Eindhoven are front-runners in the race at the moment. Both clubs have made contact with Bayern over a potential move for the 24-year-old keeper.

While a move to the Premier League could attract Peretz, Eindhoven can offer him Champions League football.

Peretz himself wants a loan move, and therefore, his temporary exit from Bayern this summer can’t be ruled out.

He said back in April: “My dream is still to become the first goalkeeper at FC Bayern.

“I’m working hard for that. That’s why I don’t want to be sold or leave the club permanently. My plan is a loan after the season to get playing time, improve, and be ready for FC Bayern.”

Who could leave Bayern Munich apart from Peretz?

The Bavarian giants suffered a massive blow last week after they missed out on Florian Wirtz, who has decided to move to Liverpool.

Vincent Kompany is expected to add some quality players to the ranks, but he may also need to offload some of the players.

Peretz is likely to leave on loan, but there are other players whose future is far from secure.

Leroy Sane has rejected a contract offer from Bayern, and he could leave for free. Arsenal have rejected the chance to sign him, but Galatasaray could come up with a lucrative offer.

Manchester United target Leon Goretzka faces an uncertain future at the club, while Kingsley Coman could be tempted to move to Saudi Arabia.
