Soccer: Juventus take Italy's fourth Champions League slot

Juventus came from behind to beat Venezia 3-2 on Sunday to hold on to fourth place and Italy's last slot in next season's Champions League in the final weekend of action.

The Turin giants will join champions Napoli, second-placed Inter and third-placed Atalanta in Europe's premier club competition.

AS Roma beat Torino 2-0 to secure fifth place and a slot in next term's Europa League in Claudio Ranieri's last match in charge before his move to an executive position at the club.

Fiorentina will have another crack at the UEFA Conference League after a 3-2 win at Udinese lifted them to sixth-place.

The Florence side reached the semis of the Conference League this season after being the runners-up in the tournament in the previous two campaigns.

Lazio will not be playing in Europe next term after they lost 1-0 at home to 10-man Lecce and dropped down to seventh.

Second-bottom Venezia have been relegated to Serie B after Sunday's defeat although, as other results turned out, they would have gone down anyway even if they had won.

Empoli have been demoted too after finishing third bottom following a 2-1 home defeat to relegation-battle rivals Hellas Verona.

Venezia and Empoli join bottom side Monza, which is owned by the Berlusconi family, in dropping down to the second tier.
