Competition quickly rising as Brighton and Bournemouth remain ‘concrete possibilities’ for player in summer

Last week, Brighton and Bournemouth were linked with a move for Lazio defender Mario Gila.

Corriere dello Sport reported the Seagulls are readying a move for the centre-back and reports in Spain claimed the Cherries see the Spaniard as a replacement for Dean Huijsen, who is on his way to Real Madrid.

Tuttomercatoweb have reported further on Gila’s future, claiming that Brighton and Bournemouth are ‘concrete possibilities’ for the 24-year-old, but things won’t be easy for them.

While the Lazio star’s ‘secret dream’ of a move to Real Madrid is not coming to fruition, there is interest from Inter Milan.

They see him as a potential target for the summer to bolster their backline and his name is quickly gaining ground on the Nerazzurri’s shortlist, threatening both Bournemouth and Brighton.

There hasn’t been any suggestion of how much Lazio would want for their asset but since Real Madrid have a sell-on clause of 50% in his contract, the valuation could be high.

So far this season, Gila has played 43 times in all competitions and has impressed with his ability to lead the backline.
