Manchester United the closed the book on a torrid season - one that will go down in the history books for all the wrong reasons.

The Red Devils slumped to defeat in the Europa League final, missing out on some Champions League windfall, but ended their season on something of a high as they beat Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

All eyes will be on the red half of Manchester this summer as Ruben Amorim looks to overhaul his stuttering squad on a shoe-string budget - and there will have to be outgoings to supplement the incomings.

Amorim has been in the market for a striker this summer, and Viktor Gyokeres has seemingly provided an update on his future as Sporting CP also end their season.

Daily Star Sport has rounded up all the best transfer stories from Old Trafford over the past 24 hours.

Viktor Gyokeres is Europe's most in-demand striker - and he has penned a message to Sporting CP fans on social media ahead of what could be his final game for the club.

Gyokeres scored from the spot as Sporting wrapped up the Taca de Portugal on Sunday evening. And ahead of the game, the attacker has posted a picture of him in action for Sporting alongside the caption, "Let's go," and a lion emoji.

The Swede had been heavily linked to the Red Devils, but recent reports suggest Amorim has now set his sight on Ipswich Town's Liam Delap.

Cunha, who is currently at Wolves, had been hopeful to join the Red Devils last summer - but he now looks set to make this move this window. And transfer guru Romano now reports that contracts over a five year deal with a extra year option will be checked this week.

However, United and Wolves remain in conversation over details of the instalments.

Garnacho was snubbed by Ruben Amorim on the final day of the season - dropping him from the matchday squad alongside Andre Onana. And ahead of the game, Garnacho's stunning WAG Eva Garcia shared their son's United kit with the caption: "Last match."

Asked if Garnacho has played his last game for United, Amorim told TNT Sports: "No. Garnacho is a Manchester United player that is not in the squad today, but he continues to be a Manchester United player."
