Wrexham and Leeds United are both interested in departing West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell, according to reporter Alan Nixon.
Wrexham are heading for the Championship and plan on making a splash up in the second tier.
The Red Dragons have been backed handsomely on the financial front over the past three years having surged from the National League to the Championship in three consecutive seasons.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the North Welsh side have been linked with a whole host of players since the end of the 2024/25 League One campaign, and another fresh name has now emerged on the radar at the Racecourse Ground.
Writing on Patreon, reporter Alan Nixon has said that Wrexham are looking to offer a deal to departing West Ham left-back Aaron Cresswell.
It is said that the Red Dragons are ready to offer Cresswell an opportunity to continue his playing career and based in Merseyside, a move to North Wales is feasible. However, the 35-year-old does have interest from Premier League bound Leeds United too, though it could be that Wrexham’s offer will prove more attractive to the soon-to-be free agent.
Cresswell has been with West Ham since 2014 but after 11 years, he heads for pastures new.
Serious pedigree
Cresswell could prove to be a shrewd free transfer signing for a club in the market for a left-sided defender this summer.

The rumoured Wrexham target has a huge level of pedigree to his name having spent 11 yeas with West Ham. His role may not have been quite as prevalent in recent years, but he still made 10 Premier League starts in the 2024/25 campaign.
Cresswell, who has been used as a left-back or left-sided centre-back in a three-man defence, has played 312 games of Premier League football. He also appeared 132 times in the Championship while at Ipswich Town.

Wrexham have focused their energy into signing experienced players with pedigree from higher leagues in their rise through English football and ahead of their step up to the Championship, it would appear they have no intention of changing that.

Of those linked with moves to the ambitious club, the vast majority have been older players who are tried and tested at a higher level.
Whether this bears fruit in the Championship as it has in previous divisions, only time will tell. However, one thing for sure is that even on potential free transfers like Cresswell, wage agreements will not be cheap.
