Hwang Hee-chan posts cryptic message after being left on bench in Wolves' draw with Brentford

Wolves have finished their 2024/25 Premier League season, coming 16th in the end.

A very turbulent season is finally over, and it has ended with Wolves surviving, which was the most important thing.

Vitor Pereira made a terrific impact after coming in and replacing Gary O’Neil, and now fans want to see him backed this summer.

It’s a huge next window for Wolves.

Several players are expected to depart now, and Pereira needs a good level of backing so that Wolves do not go backwards.

One player who might leave Wolves is Hwang Hee-chan, who posted something rather cryptic on social media after yesterday’s draw with Brentford.

It has been a season to forget for Hwang Hee-chan.

The South Korean forward was one of Wolves’ best players last term, but has barely made an impact in 2024/25.

Injuries have hampered him, but even when fit Hwang has not been able to displace other players and be a regular starter.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

Hwang was an unused substitute in Wolves’ final game against Brentford at Molineux.

And the player made a rather interesting post after the game, which may well indicate he isn’t particularly happy.

Hwang first made a post to his Instagram Story which showed a pitchside view of Molineux. He included the caption ‘…’.

Hwang then made a second post, which showed him sat on the bench looking out onto the pitch. He featured the same ‘…’ caption.

Perhaps ominously, both images were in black and white.

Hwang could leave Wolves

Some caught wind of Hwang’s post on social media and have now theorised that he could leave.

It’s not out of the question that he could.

It was suggested earlier this year that plenty of clubs like Hwang and what he brings to the table. And it was also suggested a parting of ways between Hwang and Wolves could happen.

He’s been at the club since 2021 and is now at the age of 29. It’s potentially a good time for him to change clubs, especially since Pereira hasn’t shown a willingness to start him regularly.
