Manchester City have asked about what would be needed to sign Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri in the summer transfer window.

Pep Guardiola’s side confirmed their spot in next season’s Champions League on the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday with a 2-0 win at Fulham.

They are now looking to continue their rebuild over the course of the summer to try to take the Premier League title back off Liverpool next term.

Guardiola is an admirer of Ait-Nouri and the Cityzens have been linked with holding an interest in the Wolves man ahead of the summer.

Now, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have started to take action.

They have asked about what would be needed to take Ait-Nouri to the Etihad in the approaching summer transfer window, as they seek to establish the deal conditions.

It is suggested that Ait-Nouri is ‘high on the list’ at Manchester City as they look to sign another left-back.

Ait-Nouri showed his versatility over the course of the season by making 37 appearances in Wolves’ 38 Premier League matches.

Booked against Minute booked

Chelsea 35th

Newcastle United 63rd

Aston Villa 7th

Brighton 50th

Ipswich Town 45th and 90th

Manchester United 48th

Bournemouth 90th

The Algeria international managed to make eleven goal contributions during those 37 matches, showing his effectiveness at the other end of the pitch too.

Wolves will be reluctant to lose the 23-year-old, but a move to Manchester City is sure to be one which appeals to Ait-Nouri and the Molineux club have welcomed back left-back Hugo Bueno following his Feyenoord loan.

The Dutch club though, remain hopeful they will be able to take him back to De Kuip.

Ait-Nouri played in both Wolves’ games against Manchester City this season, giving Guardiola an up close look at his talents.

The defender is now a seasoned campaigner in the Premier League, with over 130 appearances in the division to his name.

It is expected to be a summer of some change at Manchester City, with players also expected to leave.

Jack Grealish has been linked with a move, with Richard Keys believing Everton would not be a bad option for the attacker.
