The weather in Liverpool today is expected to be "cloudy" which will turn to "light rain" by lunchtime. The weather across the UK in recent weeks has been glorious, with some areas reaching temperatures of over 20C.
The Met Office warned of a "marked change" in conditions as we headed into the bank holiday weekend, and this week. While the weather is currently dry and sunny in Liverpool, rain has been forecast for many hours of the day.
The weather agency forecasts rain will start at 12pm, with a 50% chance of it falling. The forecasted rain continues until 9pm. The chance of rain varies from 50% to over 95%.
The hours of 6pm until 8pm are forecast to see the heaviest rain. At 6pm and 7pm, there is a high risk of heavy rain, this is expected to become lighter at 9pm and stop until 11pm this evening.
It is expected to be a huge day for Liverpool as Liverpool FC's Premier League title parade kicks off at 2:30pm and is expected to last several hours. Hundreds of thousands of fans are set to line the streets of the city centre and beyond.
The victorious Reds players will travel along a 15km route around the city - starting at Allerton Maze and finishing on The Strand in the city centre. Along the way, the players will visit Queens Drive, Mill Bank, West Derby Road, Islington, Leeds Street and The Strand before the route finishes at Blundell Street.
Cunard ship Queen Anne will also arrive in Liverpool today to mark the cruise line's 185th anniversary. The ship, which had her naming ceremony in the city last year, will return to berth on the River Mersey on the same day as Liverpool FC's Premier League parade.
It marks the start of global celebrations across the Cunard fleet to mark this year’s 185th anniversary of the line’s first transatlantic crossing, which left Liverpool in 1840. The ship will remain on the Mersey overnight.
However, a spokesperson for Cunard confirmed the ship is now due at 5.45pm on Monday. They added the delay was due to weather conditions.

As the change in weather takes hold across the UK, Deputy Chief Meteorologist Mark Sidaway said: “The high pressure that has been around for the last few weeks will slowly lose its grip on the UK this week, bringing a change to more unsettled conditions with many areas seeing rain or showers, ending the prolonged dry spell."
The weather agency adds: "The bank holiday weekend sees a marked change in weather type. As we head into the half-term week for many, conditions are likely to remain unsettled."
