Liverpool capped off their remarkable season with long-awaited trophy celebrations on Sunday night.
After sealing the title with a 5-1 win over Tottenham four weeks ago, Liverpool fans eagerly awaited the final home game, which ended 1-1 against Crystal Palace but was followed by unforgettable celebrations at a packed and jubilant Anfield.
Mohamed Salah was instrumental in delivering the club’s 20th league title, finishing the season with 29 goals and 18 assists, an outstanding return in what many looked like would be his final year at the club.
His contract saga had lingered all season, with fears that the club would not renew his deal. In the end, both parties came to an agreement in April, with Mo Salah signing a two-year deal with Liverpool.

Mohamed Salah confirms he considered Saudi move at one point
The contract talks were far from simple, with Salah previously self-confessing that he was never fully sure at any stage that the club was going to agree to a new deal.
And he has now revealed in an interview that he was open to a move to Saudi, where lucrative offers were on the table if his time at Liverpool had come to an end.
Salah further explained that the new deal might not have materialised without the influence of the fans, who he says played a key role in pressuring the club’s hierarchy to secure his future.
When asked about Saudi Arabia’s interest in Salah, he said on On Sport: “I was open to the idea of playing in Saudi Arabia. I saw that it was a good opportunity if it ended with my club. There were big opportunities but in the end we agreed a deal (with Liverpool).”
He also spoke about how Liverpool fans had a role in getting the club to offer him a new contract. He added: “Liverpool fans were part of the contract renewal process, they put pressure on the management because I’ve been at the club for 7 years and I treat them well. From day one, they wanted me to stay, so they had a big part.”

Mohamed Salah in running for the Ballon d’Or
Despite the off-field distractions surrounding his contract situation, Salah remained laser-focused, consistently performing for Liverpool week in, week out.
Salah has been in Ballon d’Or winning form, producing a staggering 34 goals and 23 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions, breaking several records along the way.
Salah’s performances saw him win the Premier League Player of the Season, Premier League Golden Boot, and Premier League Playmaker award, becoming the first player in history to win all three in the same season.

He was also named the FWA Footballer of the Year, winning it for the third time in his career.
Salah is now firmly in the running for the Ballon d’Or and could make history as the first African player to win the prestigious honour.
However, he faces strong competition from the likes of Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Ousmane Dembele, and Kylian Mbappe.
