Everton brutally mock Anthony Gordon with social media post after his embarrassing Newcastle…

Everton fans were sent back to Merseyside with a huge smile on their faces on Sunday.

Victory for David Moyes and his side against Newcastle United was the perfect way to sign off the 2024/25 campaign.

Everton fans mocked Newcastle supporters during the game as they looked to have spoiled their Champions League party.

Although that did not end up being the case, Everton certainly enjoyed getting one over the Magpies who have been a real force this season.

It is a positive sign for things to come under the Friedkins next season with a huge summer ahead for the club.

Not only was the result a positive one to sign off the season, but Everton also got one over their former player Anthony Gordon.

Gordon missed a penalty against Everton in the first meeting between the two sides at Goodison Park this season.

And the England international did not enjoy a better afternoon on Sunday up against Ashley Young.

The 39-year-old Everton defender had Gordon’s number throughout the game and the exit-bound right-back even managed to nutmeg the former Everton man.

Everton’s social media team posted the clip on TikTok, with a ‘buzzer’ sound playing over the nutmegs.

It was a moment which the travelling fans will have loved as they continued to outsing the home fans up in Level 7.

Everton were slammed for mocking Gordon earlier in the season on social media following his penalty miss.

It could be the same again this time around, but it is apparent the club did not mind the backlash they received from the likes of Jamie Carragher.

Anthony Gordon slammed for diving against Everton

It was not Newcastle’s day on the whole, with Everton putting in another impressive away display to cap off their campaign.

But Gordon really struggled up against Young on Tyneside.

Last week, it was announced Young would leave Everton at the end of his contract along with a number of other players.

Although the 39-year-old enjoyed his afternoon against Newcastle, he was left furious when Gordon’s clear dive was not penalised by the referee.

“Young is absolutely seething. He goes over to Gordon and says, get up, you’re diving. And I think he did,” said Michael Dawson on Sky Sports.

Another moment to forget for Gordon against the Toffees.
