Manchester United travelling squad for Asia tour

Manchester United are wasting no time getting back to work after wrapping up their Premier League season with a win over Aston Villa.

Ruben Amorim’s men flew to Malaysia just hours after the final whistle at Old Trafford, where they secured a 2–0 victory that ensured a bittersweet end to a campaign that fell short of silverware.

The club’s two-match post-season tour of Asia, featuring clashes against the ASEAN All-Stars and a Hong Kong XI, is expected to bring in around £7.8 million — a welcome injection after missing out on Champions League qualification.

Fans tuning in will get a closer look at United’s mix of established stars and up-and-coming Academy talent, as Amorim prepares to field strong starting elevens while giving opportunities to young prospects off the bench.

There were a few injury-related omissions from the travelling squad, with Lisandro Martínez continuing his ACL rehabilitation and Noussair Mazraoui ruled out after limping off on Sunday.

But the full story lies in the makeup of the 32-man squad.

Alejandro Garnacho, fresh off a public bust-up with Amorim over his Europa League final snub, is also making the trip, though it is widely expected to be his final involvement with the club before a likely £50 million move to Napoli.

Meanwhile, Leny Yoro misses out due to a recurring foot issue.

Jonny Evans, who is set to leave the club, has been included for a potential farewell appearance, while fellow confirmed departees Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen have remained behind due to personal reasons.

Several Academy standouts, including Tyler Fletcher, Shea Lacey, and Godwill Kukonki, have made the squad and are expected to gain valuable exposure.

United fans in Asia will get one last glimpse of the current crop — and maybe a first of the next.
