Good morning, Cleveland Browns fans!
Summer holidays are a sad time for webdorks. Memorial Day and July Fourth are traditionally times when there's very little Cleveland Browns news activity and people are off doing holiday things rather than hanging around on the internet talking NFL football.
Even for a team with media magnet Shedeur Sanders on the roster, it's tough for me to put together anything resembling the usual Massive Morning Missive today. Over the last 24 hours, my feeds show nothing from the local credentialed Browns sites, other than some interviews from 92.3 the Fan talking to politicians about the Stadium fracas.
I found some miscellaneous stuff which I'll list below, but mostly I'll just wish everyone here a happy Memorial Day and leave it there. Today is a day when we can enjoy our freedom and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. I plan to break out the smoker and make some coffee and molasses chicken breasts with the bone-in. I'll hang out on my deck for a few hours (it's not warm enough to spend the whole day) and throw a ball for my dog to chase, blissfully enjoying a day in a life that has never personally known war.
My Dad was in the armed services, stateside around the Korean War. He never talked about it much until his last days, and I remember a conversation on my parents' patio about his time in the Air Force. He left us several years ago. My father-in-law was buried with his military uniform, having spent time in post-World War II England and Germany in the service. He remembered those then-peaceful days fondly.
Personally, the closest I ever got to military service was signing up for the draft during the Iranian hostage crisis in the late 1970s when clouds of war were gathering, which ultimately came to nothing. I remember my Mother worrying about whether I would get drafted and worrying herself sick about my going off to war, like you would expect a Mother to do. She wondered what I should do if selected. My Father said, "Barry will do the right thing, as we expect him to". And I would have. I never had to, but my Father's words fill me with pride to this day.
But I've led my life in blissful ignorance of battle, fortunate to grow to adulthood in a time of peace and relative prosperity.
Today, I'll be thinking about how fortunate I've been, thanks to the efforts of those before and after me.

THE DAILY SHEDEUR:
NATIONAL LISTICLE OF THE DAY: Once again, Bleacher Report does some speculation about all 32 teams, this time every team's "most dangerous new addition". It's Shedeur for the Browns. Next, aggregators and clickbaiters will all write useless stories about B/R's speculation. And the circle of media scavenger life continues.
ANOTHER BULLET LIST OF BROWNS-RELATED STORIES:
That's it. Can you feel the webdorkian desperation to put this together. It's real.
Enjoy Memorial Day. Thank you to every veteran for their service.
Have a good one! GO BROWNS!
