Watch: West Ham prospect sets up wonder goal for Tyrone in Ulster Minor final

Tyrone’s hopes of adding an All-Ireland title to their Ulster Minor crown could depend on the availability of their star attacker Joel Kerr.

The Red Hands won their 26th provincial title on Sunday with a **[2-11 to 1-8 win over Cavan at Brewster Park](https://www.belfastlive.co.uk/sport/gaa/gaelic-football/tyrone-vs-cavan-live-score-31721023)**.

On the day that Conor Bradley lifted the Premier League trophy with Liverpool, another prodigious talent from Tyrone was making a name for himself.

Cavan were ahead at the break thanks to a goal on the cusp of half-time from Nathan Quigley, but a remarkable second half display from Kerr turned the game in Tyrone’s favour.

In the early moments of the second half, Kerr led a counter attack from deep in Tyrone’s half and took the ball around five Cavan men before setting up Cathal Farley for a finish at the near post.

He also scored Tyrone’s second goal and closed the game out with two classy points and was named the Man-of-the-Match for his efforts.

Tyrone now progress to the All-Ireland quarter-finals where they’ll face beaten Munster finalists Cork on the weekend of June 7/8 with a potential semi-final taking place a fortnight later.

Should Tyrone progress to the All-Ireland MFC final, scheduled for the weekend of July 5/6, it is unclear whether or not Kerr would be free to play.

The Rock clubman signed a long-term contract to **[join Premier League outfit West Ham United earlier this year.](https://www.belfastlive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/west-ham-united-sign-joel-31283616)**

He has committed his future with the Hammers until 2028 and is due to link up with the London club at some point in July. although Tyrone minor manager Gerard Donnelly will be hoping to have him until their interest in the All-Ireland series comes to an end.

Kerr impressed with Glentoran’s Academy in recent years and was linked with a move to several clubs in Europe.

Having joined the Glens back in 2020, he won an U14 title in 2023 and captained their U16 team to the League crown last season while he has also represented Northern Ireland at U17 level.
