NBA Shares Historic News After Knicks-Pacers Game 3

The New York Knicks were on the brink of what would have been a season-defining loss on Sunday night in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Indiana Pacers.

The Knicks were down by as many as 20 points in the second quarter, and at that point, they were staring down the barrel of what would have been an insurmountable 0-3 deficit against Indiana.

New York dug deep, though, and they pulled off a massive comeback run in the second half to secure a 106-100 win, thereby keeping themselves alive in this series.

The Knicks are still down 1-2 heading into Game 4 in Indiana on Tuesday, but they're certainly in a much better position than if they lost again on Sunday night.

This is not the only time the Knicks have staged a comeback in this year's NBA playoffs. Sunday's season-saving come-from-behind victory is actually the third time they've done it in the postseason.

The NBA shared a post from NBA History on X announcing the Knicks' historic feat as the only team in the play-by-play era to have three 20-point comeback wins in a single postseason run.

It is also worth noting that New York's win marks the sixth time in these playoffs that a team has come back to win after being down 20 points. There have only been five 20-point comebacks in the postseason in the past four years.

The Knicks had their backs against the wall on Sunday, and they responded in the best way possible. By doing so, they have now gotten one back after losing Games 1 and 2 in Madison Square Garden against Indiana.

The Knicks are far from safe, though, and there's no denying that the Pacers still have a significant advantage in this series heading into Game 4 on Tuesday. However, momentum is now on New York's side, and it is clear that this team won't be going down without a fight.
