Marcus Rashford has penned a letter of thanks to Aston Villa - sparking suggestions that he is returning to Manchester United.
The England international took to Instagram to express his gratitude to Villans chief Unai Emery following his loan spell in the Midlands, which has included a £40million option to become permanent.

Emery gave Rashford a chance to reboot his career after the forward fell out of favour at Old Trafford. Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim hit out at the club’s academy graduate for a lack of application as he gave the green light to a temporary switch to Aston Villa midway through the season.
The 27-year-old weighed in with a decent contribution - netting four goals and claiming six assists in 19 appearances as he gave his career a shot in the arm.
Emery showed enormous faith in him, to boot, picking the on-loan Manchester United man in several big games - most notably the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain.
But a hamstring injury curtailed his involvement in Aston Villa’s final few games this season. He updated supporters on his situation with a post on his Instagram account over the weekend, saying he was on course to recover. And he returned to the social media platform to pay tribute to the Midlands side in a message that read like a goodbye.
He said:
“Just a message of thanks to everyone here at Villa for what has (injury aside) been an incredible few months for me.
“It is a really special club and I appreciated the way Villa fans embraced me with open arms from the 1st minute on the pitch. Manager, team, and coaching staff have all been brilliant.
“I know it is a huge disappointment not to have made the Champions League place, which everyone worked so hard all season for, but I know this club and team will come back stronger.”
