Former Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has confirmed his exit from Ipswich Town after his loan concluded and the Tractor Boys were relegated.
Leeds’ place in the Premier League season sees them replace the three sides that went on the wind-up 12 months ago, including Ipswich Town.
The Tractor Boys were set to be an intriguing addition to the top flight with an exceptional coach and front-foot style of play, but it ended up being the same old story as they went down in fairly embarrassing fashion.

Unsurprisingly, the ex-Leeds man has been frequently linked with a move to Elland Road, speculation now intensifying with the Whites back in the top flight and capable of financing his Etihad wages, if interested.
Their final day loss to West Ham confirmed the end of his loan spell, and Phillips has since bid farewell to Portman Road in the process, via Instagram:
A crossroads in Kalvin Phillips’ career – Are Leeds United the saviour for him?
It’s clear that Phillips is surplus to requirements at Man City, so an exit is expected this summer once more.
But are Leeds the right side not only to improve his form, but also benefit themselves from signing him?
He’s not been able to pull up trees for a side that finished 19th on 22 points, so it’s not like he’s a transformational player for a side battling relegation.
If there was a guarantee we’d see the same levels he showed under Marcelo Bielsa, then it’s a no-brainer, but someone else would have signed him by now if that were the case.
