Yesterday saw Manchester United’s disaster of a season come to an end with a 2-0 win over Champions League chasing Aston Villa.
Whilst this victory had limited impact, it secured United’s 15th place finish, helping them end the season above Tottenham and Wolves as well as the relegation trio.
However, after the game, Ruben Amorim took to the mic to address the club’s worst season on record, ending with no silverware and no European football for next season.
Amorim has become known for being a little too honest in some of his conferences, even labelling his squad as “one of the worst teams in the history of Manchester United” earlier this season.
As such, it wouldn’t be hard to believe that some of United’s senior staff may have looked on panicked as to what was about to ensue.
However, The Athletic has reported Amorim’s address, with his apology and ultimatum for the fans speaking to his authority at the club and his belief in what comes next.

Ruben Amorim delivers apology and ultimatum to Manchester United fans and squad
Speaking to 73,839 fans inside Old Trafford, Amorim commented: “Six months ago, in my first three games in charge, with two victories and one draw, I said to you the storm is coming.”
He continued: “Today, after this disaster season, I want to tell you the good days are coming.
“Now we have to make a choice or we stay stuck in the past, because this season is in the past, it’s over. We fight each other or we stick together and move forward.”
This declaration was seemingly repeated in his post-match press conference, where he explained: “we blame each other sometimes as a club, as a family.”
Now, Amorim can look to the summer and carry out a pre-season to prepare for next season how he sees fit rather than inheriting the squad mid season, as well as bringing in new signings like Matheus Cunha for his side.
