Trent Alexander-Arnold has issued a message after his final match before his Liverpool exit and ahead of the club's trophy parade. The Reds right-back made a substitute appearance during the Reds' 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday in the last Premier League fixture of the season.

Alexander-Arnold's cameo against Palace is expected to be his last appearance for Liverpool before his contract expires. The 26-year-old confirmed earlier this month that he will be leaving the club when his deal runs out at the end of June, paving the way for a free transfer to Real Madrid.

Sunday saw Alexander-Arnold join in with his Liverpool teammates in the Premier League title celebrations after club captain Virgil van Dijk lifted the trophy. Alexander-Arnold was met with warm applause when his name was read out both during the game and ahead of the trophy presentation.

Less than 24 hours after his last appearance as a Liverpool player, Alexander-Arnold has posted a message on social media. Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, the right-back said: "Fairytale ending," accompanied by a red love heart emoji and photos from the celebrations.

The message from Alexander-Arnold comes just hours before the club's trophy parade for the Premier League title takes place across the city.

During the celebrations, Alexander-Arnold was visibly emotional as he was joined by his friends and family on the pitch. Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge interviewed Alexander-Arnold, and the right-back opened up about the emotions he felt after his last appearance for the Reds.

"I didn't know what to expect stepping out at Anfield today after what happened a few weeks ago, but I wanted to play for the club one more time," Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports. "And I said that to the manager, and he trusted me to go in at half-time.

"To get the reception that I got means more than anything to me. I've played hundreds of games for the club but I've never felt so loved and so cared for than today.

"From the bottom of my heart, I hope that one day, the fans and supporters of this club will be able to recognise the hard work and everything that I've done for the team.

"Because there wasn't a day, a minute or a second that I didn't think about the team, from six years old to 26 now.

"Twenty years is a very, very long time, but I've loved every single minute of it. The ups and the downs, coming through the academy, making it to the first team, and then being part of the first team properly. It's been an honour and a privilege for me to be part of this club."
