Man Utd ‘contact Bryan Mbeumo’ after £50m Brentford sale teased by Thomas Frank

Manchester United have reportedly initiated talks with Bryan Mbeumo over a summer transfer. The Cameroon international, 25, was in unstoppable form for the Bees this season, starting every single one of their 38 Premier League games, scoring 20 goals and laying on seven assists.

With Mbeumo entering the prime years of his career and heading into the summer window off the back of his best-ever individual campaign, many are expecting him to leave the Gtech Community Stadium. And United could exploit that by offering him the chance to play at Old Trafford for a club scrapping to get back into the Champions League.

According to talkSPORT, talks have been held between Mbeumo's camp and senior figures at United. Brentford reportedly value him at around £50million, and manager Thomas Frank recently hinted that he may be powerless to stop him leaving.

"I can definitely understand the interest in him," admitted the Dane. "There should be interest in him. He is at his best age, he has scored 20 goals. I would like to keep him, but we are a selling club so if someone comes in with the right price."
