**Tom Werner has vowed Liverpool will aim to be ‘even better’ next season.**
The Fenway Sports Group figurehead was at Anfield alongside John Henry and Mike Gordon as Arne Slot’s side lifted their latest Premier League title.
Under the Dutchman’s tutelage, the Reds claimed a record-equalling 20th crown in only his first season at the helm after succeeding Jurgen Klopp.
And Werner, who has been chairman since FSG’s 2010 takeover, admits that the focus is already on how they can improve on this season’s achievement.
He said: “It’s extraordinary.
“We obviously had high hopes for this season but he has been an extraordinary coach.
“I think there have been five coaches who have won the Premier League in their first season and Arne is one of them. He is just an extraordinary leader.
“He’s authentic, he’s not trying to be anyone else. The team was an extraordinarily good team but he brought the best out of them.
“We go again. It never gets old, winning. We owe it to all of our supporters to bring back a team even better next season.”
Werner also paid tribute to Trent Alexander-Arnold as he prepares to leave his boyhood club as a free agent with a move to Real Madrid lined up.
“We were with him a couple of days ago and we thanked him,” he added.
“He showed me a picture of him at the training centre when he was seven years old. He’s been with the club 20 years and I am sure it was an emotional day for Trent.
“I’m glad the supporters gave him the send off he deserves.”
