Manchester United have opened discussions with Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo after wrapping up a deal for Matheus Cunha.
The Red Devils are preparing for a complete squad overhaul this summer after missing out on Champions League qualification and enduring their worst-ever season in the Premier League.
It was confirmed that Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans would all be departing after United’s final match against Aston Villa – and the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony are expected to follow suit over the coming weeks.
Alejandro Garnacho could also be set for the exit door after publicly criticising Ruben Amorim, who subsequently dropped the Argentina winger for Sunday’s contest at Old Trafford.
Despite United’s crushing Europa League final defeat, Amorim retains the club’s backing and has reportedly been given a transfer budget of around £100million to spend in the upcoming window.

It’s understood United will prioritise strengthening up front after a desperately poor campaign for both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, who managed a combined total of just seven league goals this term.
Wolves star Cunha will be on his way and Viktor Gyokeres, Liam Delap and Victor Osimhen have all been linked with moves to the Theatre of Dreams, plus Brentford’s top scorer, Mbeumo.

According to talkSPORT, United have moved quickly in their move for Mbeumo and initial negotiations have already taken place with the 25-year-old attacker.
It’s claimed the Bees will be demanding a fee in the region of £50million for their prized possession this summer.
Mbeumo, who racked up 20 goals and seven assists in the Premier League this season, has just one year remaining on his current contract at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Arsenal and Liverpool have also been credited with a strong interest in the Cameroon international in recent months.

Thomas Frank recently admitted he was powerless if Brentford bosses decide that selling Mbeumo was best for the club.
‘I can definitely understand the interest in him,’ the Brentford head coach said.
‘There should be interest in him. He is at his best age, he has scored 20 goals.
‘I would like to keep him but we are a selling club so if someone comes in with the right price…’
It appears Mbeumo’s team-mates are also resigned to the prospect of the forward leaving, with Christian Norgaard telling Sky Sports: ‘I think Bryan is likely to go.
‘I don’t know about [Yoanne] Wissa yet. Everyone hopes that he might stay.
‘Either way, I’m happy for the season and am happy for both of them. They deserve it so much.’
