Report: Man Utd already want to spend potential Alejandro Garnacho cash on 20-goal ace alongside Matheus Cunha

Manchester United can now focus on a huge summer as Ruben Amorim looks to bolster his squad at Old Trafford.

Manchester United at least ended a pretty miserable campaign on a high.

The Red Devils beat Aston Villa 2-0 at Old Trafford to sign off with a victory before Ruben Amorim addressed the United faithful.

This has been a disappointing start to life under Amorim, summed up by United’s 1-0 Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

The season is over now, and United must focus on one of the most important transfer windows in recent memory.

Alejandro Garnacho has been told to leave, with United seeking to raise funds having missed out on the Champions League.

Manchester United move for Bryan Mbeumo

Matheus Cunha is poised to join United and the Wolverhampton Wanderers ace is unlikely to be the only attacking addition this summer.

United want Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, but may look to add another attacker to play off the striker, just like Cunha.

Manchester World now report that United may look to use the money raised from selling Garnacho in order to buy Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

It’s suggested that United view Mbeumo as an ‘ideal’ addition to Amorim’s attack alongside Cunha.

A fee of around £60million would be needed for Mbeumo, meaning United would have to dig deep in order to sign him.

TalkSPORT add that United have now held talks with Mbeumo over a potential move to Old Trafford.

Reports earlier in May suggested that United had enquired into signing Mbeumo ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Premier League season is now over and United appear to be firming up that interest, even with Cunha on the verge of arriving.

Manchester United focus on Premier League quality

Mbeumo was on the scoresheet for Brentford against Cunha’s Wolves on Sunday, taking his tally for the season to 20 goals and seven assists in 38 games.

The 25-year-old just keeps taking his game to new levels and would provide an injection of quality in United’s attack.

A move for the Cameroon international alongside Cunha would see United snap up two of the Premier League’s top attacking threats this season.

Add in Delap – who scored 12 times for relegated Ipswich – and United would be bringing in players who have performed in the Premier League.

We have seen United focus on the Italian and Dutch markets in recent years, but targeting Cunha, Delap and Mbeumo suggests prioritising Premier League quality.

That doesn’t always come cheap, but with Garnacho essentially being sacrificed this summer, Ineos could spend on proven Premier League ability over imports.
