Bruno Fernandes has made his feelings clear about the triple Manchester United exit involving Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen.
The trio will depart the club as free agents when their contracts expire at the end of June. Evans, a loyal servant of the club, represented United over two spells occasions during his 21-year association.
Lindelof, who arrived at Old Trafford from Benfica in 2017, has made a total of 284 appearances, while Eriksen made 107 appearances during his three-year spell at the club.
On Sunday afternoon, following United's 2-0 win over Aston Villa, those three players were honoured on the pitch. Fernandes later took to Instagram to share a few words about each of them.
Sharing a video of Evans on his Instagram story, he simply wrote: "Legend," followed by a love heart.
On Lindelof, Fernandes added: "Man, was a pleasure."
Regarding Eriksen, the Portuguese club captain remarked: "Thanks for everything, Danish lad."
Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, the United captain shared some kind words about all three players. "Very good people. Obviously, I've already had some words with them - it was a difficult choice for me to choose, which of them to take the penalty.
"But obviously, Eriksen is one of the penalty takers, he is a player which is leaving the club. Jonny was not very comfortable to take the penalty and Vic was saying that Chris is fine. Chris didn't want to take it but obviously, today was just more about the team, about the togetherness and about getting everyone involved. You know, they've been brilliant for us.
"It's been difficult for Jonny - he has had a lot of injuries and he wanted to give so much. He played so many times injured, not one 100 per cent, he always had problems but always was there for the team. He was always available and trying to help the team with words, playing and everything.
"For Christian, it was very frustrating because he came from a season where he was playing a lot and the beginning of the season - playing almost always - then got a little less space and less space and was very, very professional all the time.
"He was always very positive, always someone ready to help.
"And Vic, I've been spending all these years with him. We had our fights as everybody knows - the video in Seville - but he's been one of my best mates here. Obviously, he's a great guy, a great person that has helped me a lot since my day one and I'm very grateful for all three players."
